A Treaty of Friendship was signed between Türkiye and Hungary on 18 December 1923. In honor of the Centenary of this friendship treaty, 2024 is celebrated as the Turkish-Hungarian Common Cultural Year. In this context, a symposium will be organized by the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures of the Faculty of Letters of our University, with the contributions of the Hungarian Embassy in Ankara, the Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Center Istanbul and the Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Association, on May 13, 2024, at the Beytepe Mehmet Akif Ersoy Conference Hall. His Excellency Viktor Mátis, Hungarian Ambassador to Ankara as well as leading Turkish and Hungarian scholars will give their speeches on the outcomes of their research in concerning fields such as anthropology, linguistics, history and literature.
