Improving Quality of Life through Educational Play

The World Health Organization defines the concept of quality of life as "the individual's perception of himself/herself within the cultural structure and value patterns in line with his/her goals, standards, concerns and expectations".  In addition, this concept includes the state of being affected by many things such as physical and psychological well-being and freedom. The he/she states that an individual's quality of life can be explained by looking at the extent to which the individual is healthy, has an active social life, feels psychologically well, and is satisfied with his/her life.  Therefore, it can be thought that educational games including physical activities that support the holistic development of the individual will contribute to the quality of life. Many studies have shown that educational game activities contribute to the physical, psycho-motor, language, emotional, mental and social development of the individual. The aim of this presentation is to discuss the strategies that will contribute to young people to look at educational games that contribute to their physical, mental, emotional and social development and to discover their own potential in terms of improving the quality of life.
