Hungarians in the Construction of Turkey
08.05.2024 / Exhibition

On the Centenary of the Treaty of Friendship between Turkey and Hungary on December 18, 1923, the year 2024 is being celebrated with various events as the Turkish-Hungarian Common Cultural Year. In this regard, this exhibition sheds light on some parts of Turkish-Hungarian relations from the mid-19th century to the early Republican Period, by focusing on the portraits of Hungarians who participated in the reform processes of the late Ottoman Empire and the early Republican period, as well as the modernization and construction of the country, with their work and expertise. We hope that these stories will be an example and a source of inspiration for future generations.
The exhibition, prepared in cooperation with the Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Center and the Hungarian National Museum, can be visited at Beytepe Art Gallery between 8-14 May 2024, with the contributions of the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures of the Faculty of Letters.
