H.U. Biodiversity Museum, Biosphere Museum continues to host scientific events and science-society meetings. On 8-9 February 2024, within the scope of the cooperation of Ankara Development Agency and Ankara Governorship, events will be held under the name of "Biodiversity, Agriculture and Children" events.
On Thursday, 8 February 2024, a one-day training programme will be held at the Biosphere Museum with 50 students and their teachers. The programme will focus on sustainable agriculture, biodiversity and food concepts. Activities will consist of learning by doing, experiencing and observing. These activities with 7th grade students will include "From Cell to Plant, Plant to Table", "Little Heroes of Agriculture: Insects" and "The Story of Agriculture and Digital Agricultural Technologies".
This training programme aims to provide participants with a comprehensive perspective on sustainable agriculture, biodiversity and modern agricultural technologies.
On 9 February, "Biodiversity Research in Turkey in the Centenary of the Republic of Turkey and the Historical Process of Natural History Museums Panel" will be held with the participation of expert scientists as panelists. Panel topics; Historical Development of Biological Science in the Republic of Turkey, Development of Floristic Botany in Turkey in 100 Years of the Republic, Historical Process of Faunistic Studies in the Republican Period, Century of Agricultural Struggle in the Republic of Turkey, Historical Developments in Our Vertebrate Fauna, Illustrated Flora of Turkey, Our Plant Genetic Resources and the Importance of Dryland Plants in the Face of Global Warming: Examples from Ankara and its Surroundings, New Approaches to Biodiversity Research, The Future of Natural History Museology: The Case of Berlin Natural History Museum.
