The targets of this project are to produce 3D medical models and innovative applications by using novel technologies for lifelong medical training, to set up education with these models and applications, to set up a technology-based school under the umbrella of the International Continence Society, to increase awareness of 3D technology in European medical education. The creation of a European Simulation-Based Standard Functional Urologic Surgery Curriculum using patient-specific 3D reconstructed printed models and virtual reality models is the end point of EuroSOMT.

The Outcomes are: production of patient-specific CT-reconstructed 3D printed models and cadaveric surgical models with using patient/cadaver radiological data, creation of VR/AR models from the same 3D modeling scans, standardization of training, establishment of an appropriate syllabus and of evaluation forms for students and trainees, producing a web-based training (E-learning) module and evaluation of training sessions. For this initial curriculum, some basic procedures were chosen such as male sling implant and artificial urinary sfincter implant.
