Dark Matter
30.11.2023 / Conference / Seminar

Güver and his team work in the fields of observational high energy astrophysics and astronomical instrumentation. Tolga Güver, an expert on the observational properties of neutron stars and X-ray binaries in X-rays, has recently been serving as a science team member of NASA's Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER) mission on the International Space Station. He and his team are working on the effects of thermonuclear X-ray explosions observed in these systems on the neutron star vicinity. In the field of astronomical instrumentation, Güver, who recently completed the construction of Turkey's largest and only cosmic ray detector with his team, continues his work on new generation astronomical detectors with the Newton Advanced Fellowship scholarship he won from the Royal Society.
