The “Traditional Music and Current Approaches” symposium will be held by the Hacettepe University Fine Arts Institute, Department of Traditional Turkish Music on November 22-23, 2024 at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Hall.
This symposium aims to create a platform for in-depth research of traditional music forms and their intersections with contemporary approaches.
The symposium will cover the topics of Organology-Archaeology-Composition-Lyrics-Performance-Military Music-Migration-Culture Industry-Digitalization-Aşık Style and Tradition, including the importance of traditional music in today's cultural environment, the interaction between contemporary music practices and traditional music, and the analysis of musical forms.
