Our university's Traditional Music Culture Research and Application Center (HÜGEM) will be holding a conference titled “The Encounter of Poetry and Music in the Magic of İstanbul: Yahya Kemal Beyatlı and Münir Nurettin Selçuk,” focusing on the poems of Yahya Kemal Beyatlı and the compositions of Münir Nurettin Selçuk, which constitute some of the most important examples of the fusion of poetry and music in our culture. The conference will feature Prof. Dr. Abide DOĞAN, a faculty member of the Turkish Language and Literature Department at our university's Faculty of Letters, as the speaker, and will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Fatma Gülay MİRZAOĞLU SIVACI, Director of HÜGEM, on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 8:00 PM via ZOOM.
