Turkish natural history museums, which began with the collection of modest educational collections in the 1830s, continue to exist with many places, large and small, as they approach the 190th year of their development. Museum areas, built by bringing together different natural science disciplines, preserve traces of the geological, biological and ecological past of Anatolia and its surroundings. In this presentation, we will explore the history of Turkey natural history museums and the status of modern examples by looking at the history of collection collection initiatives built from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic of Turkey, but constantly interrupted.
